Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an USA-based accounting designation awarded to candidates who pass the CPA examinations, have relevant experience and meet other state requirements (varies at a state level). It is equivalent to a Chartered Accountant (CA) in India.
Eligibility criteria for CPA varies across the 55 states registered under NASBA. Below are the common requirements – Bachelor’s degree in any stream of Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Science or Arts Candidate needs 120 CPE credits to take CPA examinations and 150 CPE credits to get a CPA license
Each paper is for a period of four hours with 50% MCQ-based questions and 35-50% simulation and written-type questions.
